Veteran Testimonials
Thank you very much. I appreciate the trouble you went to. Particularly how you included the photos of my family, my wife and my brother (who passed away last year). I couldn’t believe it when I saw the photos of the island and the planes. It was very emotional to see the film for the first time.

It's imperative that these stories be retained for future generations to show that we are part of this country ... at the heart of it, this is our Australia and we served our country with pride.

This Story Australia is doing a wonderful job of presenting us with an opportunity to talk and preserving our history. There are plenty of photos and history of war but very little of what it is like to come home. Coming back from operations, especially being discharged - you feel like the whole world is moving very very slow. I felt alone ... and frankly bottled everything up for a long time. I just wanted to explode. I believe if I had the opportunity to talk a little bit earlier back then it would have really helped a lot. It didn't get easier the older I got - the aches and pains aren't the only thing that gets worse. We need to find the strength to talk and share and I think This Story is opening up possibilities for us all to heal.
