42 for 42 Memorial Garden

42 for 42 is a not-for-profit organisation which was founded by ex-Army veterans whose aim is to help struggling veterans and their families by building a memorial dedicated to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. The Memorial Garden will commemorate the 41 veterans who were tragically killed in Afghanistan, with the number ‘42’ representing the veterans who have returned and succumbing to suicide as a result of physical injury and mental illness.

42 for 42 is currently building a memorial garden in the Suncorp Stadium Precinct at the southern (Milton) end of the stadium off Chippendall Street. The memorial garden pays tribute to all personnel who served during Operation Slipper in Afghanistan and also the military working dogs that served during the conflict that worked or preserve human life of the Australian Defence Forces, Coalition Forces and Afghanistan people.

Once finished, this will be a wonderful place to for veterans, families and the public alike to stop by and pay your respects to our Afghanistan veterans. This Story is proud to be capturing video of the build with further exciting plans to come.
